It was a lot of fun that night! I ended up in the hot tub with my clothes on (Ilise offered us swimsuits, but I could never wear a swimsuit in front of guys! Especially ones I didn't know!). Dexter was sitting across from me and he was CREEEPY! Leg hairs on guys used to creep me out, and his were like "waving" in the hot tub jets... gross! Once he found this out, he decided it would be fun to rug his hairy spider legs on me! I could have thrown up. I eventually had a cold bucket of water poured on my head, thanks to my brother, and I remember going inside Ilise's house because it started to rain. Allison and I were trying to get my hair scrunchie out, it was a MESS from being all wet! Dexter came up to us and said "It would be really cool to get you girls' number before you leave" then walked away. Allison and I could not stop laughing! We ended up exchanging e-mails instead and got to know each other better.
In the beginning, Dexter was the one who wanted me and had a crush on me.. I didn't like him at all that way! After lots of e-mails, phone calls, and group dates, he asked to be my girlfriend on my 16th birthday! He waited 9 months for that day, May 16, 2005, but it was worth it!
We were (and are) the best of friends. We have had a lot of ups and downs from the on and off 4 years of dating before we were married on August 21, 2009, but all of our experiences and memories I would never change because it has made us the people we are today!
